March 1: "Come, Follow Me"

Scripture: Matthew 4:19 (ESV)
"And he said to them, 'Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.'"

The Call That Changes Everything

Have you ever felt like you were made for more? Like your life is good, maybe even comfortable, but deep down, there’s this nagging feeling that something is missing?

That’s because we were never meant to just exist—we were meant to follow.

Peter and Andrew were ordinary men. Fishermen. Their days were spent casting nets, their hands calloused from the weight of the rope, their nights dictated by the rhythm of the tides. But then He walked by.

Jesus. And with just two words, their entire world shifted:

➡️ “Follow me.”

No explanations. No promises of comfort or success. Just a simple, radical invitation to leave behind everything they knew and step into the unknown.

And they did it. Immediately.

What was it about Jesus that made them drop their nets and follow without hesitation? Maybe the better question is: Would you?

The Decision to Follow

Have you ever had to make a split-second decision that changed everything?

That’s what Peter and Andrew did when Jesus called them. No time to weigh the pros and cons. No safety net. Just a choice:

✅ Stay in the boat, or ✅ Step into something greater.

And here’s what’s wild—Jesus didn’t call them because they were qualified. He called them because they were willing.

📌 He doesn’t look for perfect people. He looks for surrendered hearts.

So the real question isn’t “Am I ready?” The question is “Am I willing?”

Jesus is standing on the shore of your life, calling your name. He’s not waiting for you to have it all figured out. He’s asking you to trust Him enough to take the first step.

Dropping the Net

Peter and Andrew had their nets—literal ones. But we all have something we’re holding onto.

Something that makes us feel secure:

🔹 A career.
🔹 A relationship.
🔹 A comfort zone.

But what if the very thing you’re clinging to is the thing that’s keeping you from Jesus?

Following Jesus isn’t just about adding Him to your life—it’s about surrendering what’s keeping you from Him.

Maybe for you, that’s fear.
Maybe it’s pride.
Maybe it’s the need to control everything.

Whatever it is, Jesus is asking you to drop it. Not because He wants to take something from you, but because He wants to give you something better.

⚡ You were made for more than just surviving. You were made for an extraordinary life of faith. But you can’t step into that life while holding onto the things that keep you stuck.

So, what’s in your hands? And are you willing to let it go?

💬 If this speaks to you, let us know in the comments. Let’s encourage one another to live with open hands and surrendered hearts.

Becoming Who You Were Meant to Be

Jesus didn’t just say, “Follow me.” He also said, “I will make you fishers of men.”

That means transformation is part of the process. He doesn’t expect you to already be where you need to be. He promises to shape you as you walk with Him.

The problem is, we often want to be ready before we take the first step. But that’s not how faith works.

➡️ Faith is stepping out before you see the whole plan, trusting that Jesus will make you into what you’re meant to be along the way.

Peter was impulsive. He made mistakes. He doubted. But Jesus still used him to change the world. Why?

📌 Because Peter kept following.

That’s all Jesus is asking of you today. Not perfection. Just obedience.

💬 If you needed this reminder, let us know. Christian content is so important to share—let’s spread the word together.
